Corona Virus Prevention

As Corona Virus hits the world and has infected more than 24,000 people and claimed more than 400 lives, the WHO declared a world health emergency on February 2nd, 2020. Trying to raise the awareness of Corona Virus, Pak Ramli, Vice President Medical Solutions of idsMED Indonesia, invited idsMED Indonesia’s employees to come to join the socialization of Corona Virus that was held at the Education and Training Room on the 17th floor. Before it started, the HR&GA team provided free hand sanitizers for everyone – one for each participant.

Speaking in front of idsMED Indonesia’s employees, Pak Ramli explained how people can be infected by a virus – for example, an influenza virus. He stated that a virus can affect people through any medium. In the case of the Corona Virus that has infected thousands of people, the virus transmits into people’s bodies mostly on the face’s area through liquid and air. When you are sneezing, the particles and droplets could reach others’ noses and faces. Then, it enters and proliferates within the body.

To reduce the proliferation, the acts of prevention are needed. Several things can be done to prevent the disease, for instance, washing your hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer, using face mask if you go outside as well as live healthily by consuming healthy food and doing exercise regularly. It aims to strengthen the immune system. Pak Ramli also demonstrated how to wear a mask properly.

The event was closed by a QnA session. On this occasion, Bu Natalia, Senior Manager Consumables, added a few points about the prevention of the disease. She stated that washing your mouth with mouthwash also can help to reduce or even kill the virus and bacteria in the mouth area.
