On 19 June 2025, idsMED Singapore hosted its June Lunch & Learn session, “Managing for Excellence: Performance Plan,” at the idsMED Learning Academy, engaging 19 employees in effective performance planning and goal setting.

Lunch from Oriental Kopi was served at the start of the session, allowing attendees to enjoy their meal while the session went on. This relaxed format fostered a comfortable atmosphere for learning and open conversation.

Ms. Han from the HR team facilitated the session, providing a comprehensive overview of the company’s performance planning process. Participants were guided through the performance timeline and introduced to the tools available to support them in setting clear, effective goals. The session emphasised that performance management at idsMED is a shared responsibility among employees, supervisors, leaders, and HR.

The session highlighted the importance of performance management and goal setting in aligning with organisational objectives. It defines clear expectations, promotes effective communication, boosts employee engagement, and encourages timely recognition of employees’ performance.

The discussion highlighted the framework for setting goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound (SMART). It also introduced the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) approach to align individual efforts with organisational priorities. Real-life examples given showed how strategic goals can effectively cascade through teams and departments.

Attendees were shown how to use the goal-setting platform, focusing on inputting goals, selecting from the library, using the SMART goal wizard, and submitting performance forms for approval. The demonstration was designed to build confidence in planning 2025 goals.

By combining a relaxed lunchtime setting with meaningful learning, the session reinforced idsMED’s commitment to a culture of performance and continuous improvement — empowering every team member to manage for excellence.
