World Health Day is celebrated on 7 April every year to educate the public on a critical global health concern. This year, the WHO aims to build a movement that will facilitate the well-being of societies, in the face of the current environmental challenges of today.

World Health Day is celebrated annually on 7 April, in commemoration of the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO) on 7 April 1948. Every year, it raises awareness on a different health issue that affected the global population.

For this year’s celebration, WHO focuses on critical efforts needed to keep humans and the planet healthy by building a movement to create societies centered on well-being in the face of a pandemic, a polluted planet, and diseases including cancer, asthma, and heart disease.

According to WHO, more than 13 million people die each year due to preventable environmental causes around the world. This includes the climate change problem, which is the world’s single greatest health threat facing humanity. The climatic crisis is also considered a health crisis.

So let’s do our part through the “Our Planet, Our Health” campaign by sharing stories of steps we can take to protect the planet and our well-being.
