Social Service Summit 2019

The National Council of Social Service’s annual Social Service Summit happened on 16 July 2019, bringing leaders from the social service sector together once again to build networks and inspire change. The theme for this year’s summit was Impact Through Innovation.

This year’s Summit featured the launch of the Sector Design Challenge, a platform for social service partners to work together in solving key social issues, an Innovation Showcase featuring solutions from over 50 social service agencies, social enterprises and tech partners, and 6 Breakout Tracks that touched on topics such as innovation in service delivery, innovation in organisational change and innovation in collaboration.

Our Patient Support System team was part of the Innovation Showcase as a tech partner and showcased the SilverFit and Vendlet. The SilverFit is a virtual therapy system to train gross motor skills and ADL tasks during rehabilitation sessions or supervised exercise programmes. These exercises come in the form of games and motivate the older person to push their boundaries. The Vendlet is an automatic patient turning system for moving and handling bedridden clients with limited resources.

Overall, the Summit was a successful one for our team as they managed to share more about what the SilverFit and Vendlet could do for this sector and forged new relationships with others in the industry. Our booth was even featured in the news! Great job, team!
