On August 25th & 26th, idsMED Vietnam and Medtronic organized a Workshop "Screening for congenital heart defect by non-invasive method" at D4 and D5 obstetrics and service departments of Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital.

At the workshop, experts from Medtronic and idsMED Vietnam emphasized the following points to use SpO2 congenital heart screening equipment:

- Select the transducer area on the flesh, outside of the child’s right hand or foot.

- Make sure the transducer is attached to the child’s hand and foot with the tapes provided by the machine manufacturer.

- To get the most accurate screening results, it is recommended to use one sensor patch for only 4 infants.

- The sensor should be stuck on the hands or feet of infants before plugging in to avoid errors when screening.

Screening of the congenital heart for children with the SpO2 measurement method (measuring oxygen saturation through the skin) has several outstanding advantages: No pain; Non-invasive; Low cost.
