On 28 June 2019, the idsMED Malaysia Aesthetics team and Lutronic, Inc. ran a conference discussing one of the most talked about subjects in the industry - pigment management. A part of the idsMED Aesthetics Center of Excellence (IACE) continuous education roster, the conference endeavors to encourage learning in the Medical Aesthetics industry.

Key opinion leaders and speakers from Malaysia and other parts of Asia shared their treatment solutions using a combination of different types of lasers.

Dr Cho Sung Bin, CEO of Kang Skin Clinic in South Korea, talked about the different types of technology – pico-laser technology, 755nm-wavelength lasers, and Lutronic’s Clarity – their role in treating Asian pigmentation and his own experiences as a user; Dr Jason Yip, Medical Director of Astute Clinic, talked about how microneedling pulsed RF technology is a game changer in melasma management and explained the science behind it; Dr Ruth Ling, a leading dermatologist from Borneo Medical Centre talked about the Dual Yellow Laser’s role in melasma management and why it’s important to pick the right yellow.

Local experts Dr Peter Ch’ng, founder of Peter Ch’ng Clinic Skin and Laser Specialist, Dr Jeff Khoo from Revival Clinic, and Dr Anna Hoo, founder of Anna Hoo Clinic also shared their experiences and some tips and tricks when dealing with melasma.

Other than the amazing panel of speakers, our Malaysian Aesthetics team was also on site to support and answer questions from the audience.

We hope that the session and tips shared were interesting and beneficial to all who attended!
