Enhancing Early Diagnosis of Heart Failure at National Cardiac Forum

On 25 March 2026, at Suan Dusit University, Suphan Buri Campus, Suphan Buri Province, Dr. Preecha Prempree, Inspector General of the Ministry of Public Health for Health Region 5, presided over the opening of the Cardiac Network Forum 2026 under the theme “Future Heart for a Future World.”

In his remarks, he highlighted cardiovascular disease as a major public health concern and a leading cause of mortality both globally and in Thailand, noting that an average of five Thais die every hour from heart-related conditions. As the country transitions into an aging society, the burden of cardiovascular disease is expected to increase. He emphasized that, despite advancements in medical innovation and artificial intelligence (AI), challenges such as cost-effectiveness and access to timely care remain critical. Efficient service management and rapid access to treatment are therefore essential to improving patient outcomes.

He also acknowledged the strong collaboration among government, private sector, and professional organizations in advancing healthcare services and clinical capabilities. The adoption of smart technologies and innovation, he noted, is key to strengthening equitable and responsive healthcare systems.

The Cardiac Network Forum 2026, held from 24–27 March 2026, served as a platform for administrators, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary stakeholders to exchange best practices, update clinical knowledge, and strengthen collaborative networks in cardiovascular care. The conference brought together approximately 500 participants, including senior executives, provincial health officers, hospital directors, and healthcare personnel from across Thailand. Sessions covered advancements in cardiovascular disease management, integration of modern technologies, and approaches to improving care delivery.

Dr. Sumon Tangsunthornwiwat, Director of Kumphawapi Hospital and Chair of the Cardiology Service Plan under the Ministry of Public Health, highlighted the forum’s role in facilitating knowledge transfer and fostering collaboration across healthcare networks.

During the event, idsMED Thailand engaged with healthcare professionals and gained insights into the Ministry of Public Health’s direction to strengthen screening capabilities for heart disease at general and community hospitals, particularly in facilities without cardiologists. This initiative aims to improve early detection and reduce patient burden at higher-level hospitals.

In response to these developments, idsMED Thailand explored solutions that support point-of-care cardiac assessment, including portable ultrasound technologies integrated with AI-based applications for left ventricular function evaluation. These innovations aim to enhance accessibility to cardiac screening and support evolving healthcare needs.

At the exhibition area, idsMED Thailand showcased cardiovascular imaging solutions and conducted product demonstrations, providing participants with opportunities to learn about key features and clinical applications. The booth also served as a venue for engagement and knowledge exchange with healthcare professionals.

The conference featured speakers from government institutions, academic centers, and the private sector, contributing to comprehensive discussions on advancing cardiovascular care in Thailand.
