Founded in 1977, the Singapore Radiological Society (SRS) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental society of radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians and radiation oncologists in Singapore. The society is dedicated to advancing the field of radiology through various initiatives including lectures, workshops, social events and annual scientific meetings to promote networking among the members. SRS also fosters international collaboration with radiological societies worldwide, for knowledge exchange and professional development.

In its second year of organising the Singapore Thyroid Ablation Workshop (STARK 2024), SRS convened renowned experts and the local faculty at One Farrer Hotel on 16 November 2024. The workshop brought together prominent global experts alongside local faculty to share insights on thyroid and parathyroid ablation therapy.

The event featured engaging presentations by esteemed speakers, including Professor Wei-Che Lin from Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital; Professor Guan Qing from Fudan University Cancer Center; and Dr. Allan Dampil from St. Luke’s Medical Center.  These experts provided updates on complex issues surrounding ablation therapy and shared experiences in establishing and advancing ablation services.

Local faculty members, including Dr. Jereme Gan and Dr. Ray Lai from Tan Tock Seng Hospital, further enriched the programme by sharing their expertise, enhancing the learning experience for all participants.

Complementing the academic sessions, idsMED Singapore showcased state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment, contributing to the workshop’s practical components and ensuring participants had access to cutting-edge technology for hands-on training. The workshop served as a valuable platform for participants and exhibitors to expand their knowledge, exchange ideas, and build meaningful professional connections.

idsMED Singapore extends its heartfelt gratitude to Professor Uei Pua and Dr. Alvin Soon for the warm invitation and the opportunity for idsMED to contribute to this impactful event, highlighting the importance of partnership in driving progress in radiological practices.
