Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) continue to pose a serious challenge to both patients and healthcare professionals, highlighting the need for effective hand hygiene to prevent the spread of infections.

Aligning with the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) annual “SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands” campaign, this year’s WHO World Hand Hygiene Day (WHHD) focus expanded to include appropriate glove use, under the theme - “It Might Be Gloves. It’s Always Hand Hygiene.”

The WHHD, celebrated annually on 5 May, inspired a series of hospital-based activities from 25 April to 27 May 2025. During this period, idsMED Singapore actively engaged with healthcare professionals and the public, promoting awareness and education around infection prevention.

At various hospital events, idsMED showcased infection control consumables from renowned brands, including its in-house brand InnoQ. The booth featured hands-on product experiences and interactive educational games, drawing strong interest from hospital staff and reinforcing the importance of proper hand hygiene practices.

To prepare for these month-long events, teams from the Field Solutions Specialists (FSS), Medical Specialty Care (MSC) and Marketing Communications (Marcom) collaborated to develop engaging materials tailored for each location.

A highlight of the booth was an interactive game board designed by the MSC and Marcom teams for participants to test their knowledge of infection control products. The activity aimed to educate participants on the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), hand sanitisers, and environmental disinfectants to combat various viruses and bacteria. Participants who completed the challenge received a prize.

On-site product demonstrations and hands-on sessions provided valuable opportunities for participants to explore product effectiveness and engage directly with the FSS and MSC teams. These interactions helped strengthen connections and reinforced idsMED’s presence in the market.

A big thank you to Team idsMED SG for their unwavering dedication and efforts in supporting this vital campaign!
