idsMED Singapore Invites PARO Therapeutic Robot Inventor to Therapeutic Wellness Workshop

How often do people get to meet and hear directly from a product’s inventor?

On 19 June 2024, idsMED Singapore, Parkinson Society Singapore, and the Bishan Wellness Hub (Bishan Community Club) hosted a Therapeutic Wellness Workshop featuring the PARO Therapeutic Robot. The workshop gathered over 50 attendees to learn more about the product from its inventor - Dr. Takanori Shibata.

Dr. Shibata spoke about how beneficial the PARO is as a psychophysiological biofeedback medical device and how it can be a complement to non-pharmacological approaches in dementia care and palliative care.

During this interactive and engaging workshop, attendees were introduced to the PARO Therapeutic Robot and watched training videos, learning how to interact and use the PARO as demonstrated by idsMED SG’s Intermediate Long Term Care (ILTC) team.
