Pentax Workshop for Emergency Procedure

On 5 January 2021, the Pentax Workshop for Emergency Medicine was held at the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Linkou, led by Dr. Guo, an otolaryngologist from Linkou Chang-Geng. Dr. Guo specialises in respiratory tract structure and he was also involved in emergency healthcare for many years.

The workshop was to educate and demonstrate the PENTAX endoscope for use in an emergency to perform endotracheal intubation. About 50 trainees, most of whom were residents and medical students, attended the workshop.

Dr. Guo demonstrated a prosthetic simulation on the procedure to place the endotracheal tube and complete external inflation. The students have a better understanding of the respiratory tract’s structure by operating the endoscope.

Through this workshop, idsMED Taiwan hopes to provide better medical quality to the society.
