Robotic Surgery Experts Convene for Journal Club Meeting

On 10 April 2026, the Robotic Surgery Society of Singapore (RS3), in collaboration with idsMED Singapore, held its Journal Club Meeting, bringing together robotic surgeons from multiple disciplines.

Guests arrived ahead of the session, with networking taking place in the ballroom. Representatives from Edge Medical and the idsMED team engaged with attendees, supporting professional exchange and collaboration.

The evening opened with a welcome address by Dr Joseph Ng, Chairman of the Comprehensive Robotic Surgery Programme at the National University Health System (NUHS), followed by presentations from invited speakers.

Prof. Hao Hu, Deputy Director at Peking University People’s Hospital, delivered a presentation on the application of robot-assisted laparoscopy in the repair and reconstruction of complex ureteral strictures. He outlined key considerations in preoperative evaluation, with emphasis on anatomical assessment and functional analysis.

Mr Pavel Lu, International Sales Director (Asia & Pacific) at Edge Medical, provided an update on the company’s global developments and introduced the MSP2000 Robotic Super-System.

Dr Yim Ga Won, Consultant at the National University Hospital, Singapore, presented on cost and cost-effectiveness in robotic surgery in South Korea, highlighting its relevance to clinical adoption trends, economic considerations, and policy implications.

The session concluded with a discussion led by Dr Joseph Ng, encouraging active participation and dialogue among attendees.

The meeting provided a platform for knowledge exchange, professional engagement, and networking. idsMED looks forward to continued collaboration in advancing the field of robotic surgery.
