What is Coronavirus? Why is this virus declared as a pandemic? Why is it dangerous for humans?

According to WHO, Coronaviruses (CoV) are the large number of viruses that cause illness like common cold to severe respiratory diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). Both diseases have previously found in the 2010s. In 2019, the virus proliferates into a new disease called Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). The coronaviruses are zoonotic. It means the virus spread between animals and people.

The Symptoms are different for each person, however, the most common signs include dry cough, fever, and shortness of breath or breathing difficulties.

How to Prevent the Disease?

There are several steps to prevent the spread of the disease effectively.

Washing Your Hands

Washing your hands with soap and water reduces the risk. Those who often wash their hands will practically clean the virus around the hands.  Wash your hands after coughing or sneezing, when having contact with the sick, before and after eating your food, after using the toilet, after having contact with animals, and when your hands are dirty.

Wear Your Mask

If you feel unwell and have the symptoms of flu, please wear your mask to prevent the infection to others. Wear a mask when you have contact with the sick or if you are coughing or sneezing. Before using a mask, make sure your hands are clean by washing with soap and water. Touch the string only, and make sure no gaps between the face and the mask. Avoid touching the mask while using it. Do not re-use the damp mask, discard immediately in a bin, and clean your hands with hand sanitizer or soap and water.

Boost Your Immune System

You can boost the immune system by raising the vitamin and mineral inside your body. To increase the immune system, you can consume healthy food and vitamin, particularly vitamin C, and consuming food supplements. Vitamin C contained in Broccoli, Orange, Apple, etc.

Keep Your Healthy Lifestyle

A healthy lifestyle includes sleeping time, the food you eat, and mostly your exercise time. Eating healthy food can implement the mineral and vitamin inside your body. It builds your immune system. Also, having enough sleep is probably the most important thing. When you have enough sleep, your body will feel fresh. It’s difficult for viruses and diseases to attack your immunity. The last but not least, exercising. Healthy life without exercising is incomplete. By doing exercise twice a week regularly can help you to prevent the disease.

Social Distancing and Seek Professional Healthcare

It will not hurt you to make a distance with your beloved friends for at least 14 days. Social distancing aims to prevent the disease. Social distancing means reducing your social meetings and keeping the distance of at least 1 meter when you talk with someone.  If you feel unwell and consider it as the symptoms of COVID-19, do not hesitate to seek medical care for further treatment.
