For most patients, COVID-19 begins and ends in their lungs because corona viruses are respiratory diseases. This disease typically attacks the lungs in three phases: viral replication, immune hyper-reactivity, and pulmonary destruction.

The lungs are the first organ to be attacked and are most severely damaged by COVID-19. According to data, 82% of patients have only mild symptoms, 12% suffer from respiratory failure - a major manifestation of serious illness leading to a high risk of death. Therefore, the use of respiratory support tools during treatment such as oxygen breathing machines is extremely important.
