June 2025 marked a pivotal milestone for idsMED Indonesia with the formal introduction of a cutting-edge advancement in surgical technology. The Edge Medical MP1000 Robotic Surgical System, developed by Edge Medical in China, was the focus of a series of strategic initiatives and clinical engagements throughout the month. This effort supports the launch of this breakthrough innovation and promotes its clinical integration within the Indonesian healthcare ecosystem.
Unboxing at Logos Warehouse
The journey commenced on Tuesday, 10 June 2025, with an unboxing and introductory training session held at the Logos Warehouse in Bekasi. Led by Mr. Li, an engineer from Edge Medical, the session was designed to provide the BioMed Engineering (BME) and Logistics teams with essential technical knowledge for operating and maintaining the MP1000 system.
Strengthening Internal Capabilities Through In-Depth Training
Building on this momentum, an internal training program was conducted on Thursday and Friday, 19–20 June 2025, at Santika Premiere Hotel, Slipi. The session was facilitated by Aaron (Product Manager) and Dr. Pheng Huahong (Clinical Doctor) from Edge Medical.
The two-day workshop featured in-depth discussions on technical specifications, system features, and clinical application strategies. The workshop also included hands-on training for Clinical Specialists, Sales Managers, and Branch Managers, complete with a knowledge assessment.
Expanding Reach Through JUMP 2025
The introduction campaign continued with idsMED Indonesia’s participation in the Jakarta Urology Medical Update (JUMP) 2025, held on Friday and Saturday, 27–28 June 2025. The EDGE MP1000 was featured at the company’s exhibition booth and received significant interest from urology specialists attending the symposium. Among the notable guests was Prof. Dr. Ponco Birowo, SpU (K), PhD, who shared insights from his experience utilising the EDGE MP1000 during Indonesia’s first telesurgery trial in 2024.
This series of events was made possible thanks to the unwavering support of the BME team, who tirelessly installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled the surgical system at every location. Equal credit goes to the logistics team, who ensured the machines were delivered seamlessly from one point to the next, without fail.
This comprehensive series of initiatives reflects idsMED Indonesia’s strong commitment to advancing surgical innovation in the country. Through the introduction of the Edge Medical MP1000 Robotic Surgical System, idsMED is poised to address the evolving demands of modern surgery, ushering in a new era defined by technological precision, clinical excellence, and improved patient outcomes.
