Nowadays, Wireless Bluetooth headphones have been used widely all over the world, especially in this era, where the world demands more convenient gadgets to support its rapid mobilization. According to Defender Shield, over 334 million headphones and headsets were sold worldwide in 2016. In the same year, sales of wireless Bluetooth headphones surpassed that of wired headphones for the first time in history, amounting to 54% of revenue and 17% of total headphone sales. Wireless Bluetooth gadgets give a whole new experience for the users because you don’t need to spend additional time to untangle the cable – just simply for a phone call or listen to music.

Although it seems more comfortable, many of us are cautious about the safety issues of using Wireless Bluetooth headphones. It’s kind of in our nature to worry about new technologies and whether they’re going to doom us all in some abrupt way. We worry that wearing a radio-transmitting gadget on our head is going to cause some health issues. Well… Fantastic Four did sway us with the power of radiation that could turn us into some superhumans. However, radiation is – in fact – generally something we’ll stay away from.

Back to the main question of the post: is the radiation from Wireless Bluetooth headphones something to be worried about? Much to our surprise, the answer is NO. In contrary to cellphones, which have to transmit a signal to an antenna that might be many kilometers away, Wireless Bluetooth headphones only need to reach the phone in your pocket. In the wireless world’s language, you live at 2.4 GHz. This means that a router, cordless phone, Bluetooth earpieces, baby monitors work on this frequency and not any other frequency. This applies to all the devices that use wireless technology. Therefore, wireless accessories including Wireless Bluetooth headphones cannot be excluded from it.

Most of Wireless Bluetooth headphones have a range of only 10 meters. This means that they transmit one thousand times less radiation than cellphones. In a nutshell, if you’re going to be talking on a cellphone, using a Wireless Bluetooth headphone will help you reduce exposure to radiation.
