Indonesian Digestive Disease Week

Indonesia Digestive Disease Week (IDDW) is an annual seminar and congress held by the Indonesian Society for Digestive Endoscopy (PEGI). This is an event which is regarded as the ‘Mecca of Endoscopy Updates’ for Internists in Indonesia. This year, the event was being held in the island of Bali on 20-22 May 2017.

The week started off with a pre-congress workshop in which idsMED Indonesia’s endoscopy team participated in. The team brought along Endo VR units from CAE and the latest generation of PENTAX device as endoscopy simulators, which received a lot of attention and interests from the attendees – especially from the KOLs who experienced a lot of positives using the devices. The Endo VR unit used during this session was an advanced module for Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatogram Procedure (ERCP) or better known as the Kidney Stone Removal procedure.

During the seminar session, the team also presented PENTAX’s latest technology called the Optical Enhancement (OE) which enables doctors to diagnose vascularization on the surface of mucosa and gained a lot of interest from the doctors in the audience, who requested product demo to be done in their hospitals. This technology will surely make PENTAX devices become increasingly popular in the endoscopy market.
