Bridging Theory and Practice in Critical Care Training

Ramathibodi Hospital conducted a critical care training program from March 25–28, 2026, combining academic lectures and hands-on workshops. Ramathibodi Hospital, widely recognized as one of Thailand’s leading university medical centers, continues to play a key role in patient care, medical education, and research under Mahidol University. From March 25–27, 2026, a series of academic lectures was conducted, followed by a hands-on workshop on March 28, 2026, at the Athasit Vejjajiva Conference Room, 5th Floor, Queen Sirikit Medical Center, Ramathibodi Hospital. The hospital is known for managing complex cases through a multidisciplinary team of specialists supported by advanced medical technologies.

The Critical Care Unit, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pongdhep Theerawit, specializes in training healthcare professionals in emergency and critical care. The unit regularly organizes conferences and workshops designed to strengthen clinical competencies and promote the application of current best practices. These programs focus on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills required to manage critically ill patients safely and effectively.

Hands-on training with ventilators is a key component of the Critical Care Medicine workshop. The Nihon Kohden NKV-550 ventilator is among the devices featured in specialist-level training sessions, supporting practical learning in advanced respiratory care.
 
The NKV-550 ventilator is designed to support critically ill patients requiring precise respiratory management. It includes features for assessing lung conditions and supporting lung recruitment strategies, such as Recruitability Assessment, Recruitment Maneuver, and PEEP titration, which contribute to more effective and controlled patient care.

Ms. Kullapat Nusomjit, Principal Product Sales Specialist (Critical Care), delivered a presentation on the NKV-550 ventilator during the workshop.
 
Upon completion of the training, participating doctors and nurses return to their respective institutions with enhanced capabilities, contributing to improved standards of critical care across the healthcare system.
