Telemedicine Application on Primary Health Care under the Principles of Family Medicine

On October 8, 2020, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment under the Ministry of Health organized a conference on "Telemedicine Application on Primary Healthcare under the Principles of Family Medicine” in Hanoi.  It was attended by 80 delegates from the Department of Health, hospitals, and medical centres.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luong Ngoc Khue- Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment, Ministry of Health, “The implementation of the remote medical examination and treatment project is very important in the treatment, diagnosis, and treatment. This helps people in remote areas receive high quality medical service”.

At the conference, idsMED Vietnam introduced the health index monitors commonly used in telemedicine, the Philips Lumify handheld ultrasound and the Tyto Care remote examination kit that are suitable for home-visit use to improve the quality of remote examination and treatment.

There was a fruitful discussion and one of the pioneers in implementing the telehealth project in Hanoi Medical University Hospital, shared about the deployment of telehealth in medical centres and less-equipped hospitals.

It was a successful conference with the hope that the remote medical examination and treatment scheme under the direct guidance of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Health will improve the quality of medical services in Vietnam.
