On 11 May 2026, idsMED Singapore, in collaboration with Paramount Bed, welcomed more than 60 healthcare professionals to the idsMED Learning Academy for an engaging afternoon of learning and knowledge sharing.
The event commenced with opening remarks by Mr Shrikanth Sankar, Senior Managing Director of idsMED Singapore, who highlighted the importance of innovation and collaboration in advancing patient care.

The programme featured an insightful presentation titled The “Small Change” Concept by invited speaker Dr Makiko Tanaka, a registered nurse and President of Yamaguchi Prefectural University. Dr Tanaka introduced her specialised nursing and caregiving philosophy, which focuses on pressure injury prevention and patient repositioning. The “Small Change” concept emphasises how small, frequent and consistent adjustments to a patient’s position, together with the use of specialised air mattresses, can significantly enhance skin integrity, comfort and overall recovery.
Dr Tanaka also shared practical insights into repositioning care with air mattresses, supported by interactive product demonstrations and discussions on pressure injury prevention with the Paramount hospital bed and the Cococia Riraku Flow mattress. The demonstrations highlighted how seemingly minor adjustments can make a meaningful difference to patient care and recovery outcomes.
During the hands-on session, guests had the opportunity to experience the air mattress firsthand and expressed positive feedback on both its comfort and the effectiveness of the “Small Change” concept.

The event concluded with a closing address by Mr Masanori Take, Managing Director of Paramount Bed Asia Pacific. Together with idsMED Singapore’s ILTC team and Paramount Bed Asia Pacific, the session provided a valuable platform for healthcare professionals to exchange insights, strengthen collaboration and explore innovative approaches to patient care.
