idsMED Vietnam: Good afternoon, Dr. Nghia. Thank you for being here in this interview with idsMED Vietnam. Could you please give us your opinions about the current surgical techniques for head and neck tumors in Vietnam?
Dr. Nghia: Good afternoon. Until now, there are many approaches to treat the tumors. Surgery is always the first step and one of the most important methods besides chemotherapy and radiation as well as the other methods. Nowadays, the surgical techniques in Vietnam have been improved; in parallel with that, doctors and nurses are also trained more properly and methodically than before. Especially, the medical equipment also helps the surgeons to treat tumors in general and head and neck tumors in particular.
idsMED Vietnam: Besides the qualifications of doctors in the process of surgical treatment, in your opinion, what does the medical equipment play the roles in surgeries?
Dr. Nghia: The expertise of a doctor is very important. Besides that, the support of equipment also helps the doctors in the surgery requiring the difficult techniques. For example, laparoscopic surgeries that rely on an endoscopy device can stop patients’ blood well, reduce the tissue injuries, as well as better healing of old wounds. Thus, equipment is an extremely important part, which brings the best effective treatment for patients.
idsMED Vietnam: Can you give us your opinion on the role of NIM Neuro 3.0 during surgery?
Dr.Nghia: I and the hospital are very happy that idsMED introduced a medical device that helps the surgeons in general and especially the neurosurgeons, the head and neck surgery in particular can avoid the complications during surgery such as nerve palsy.
