On 19 March 2022, idsMED Indonesia, in collaboration with doctorSHARE and UNFPA, and with support from the Ministry of Health and the Indonesian Midwives Association, organised a webinar titled "The Importance of Sustainability of Maternal Health Services in Disaster Situations".

This webinar was conducted to educate the public on the health and sexual violence risks faced by the disaster victims. Broadcasted live through the doctorSHARE YouTube channel, the event gathered 120 participants, consisting mainly of mothers and health workers.

The Secretary-General of the Central Board of the Indonesian Midwives Association Dr. Ade Jubaedah, S.SiT, MM, MKM. and dr. Erna Mulati, M.Sc., CMFM., Director of Nutrition and Maternal and Child Health, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia were the distinguished speakers for the event.

Dr. Ade Jubaedah, S.SiT, MM, MKM. explained that in times of crisis, some victims, especially women and children are susceptible to the risk of sexual violence. Therefore, there is an urgent need for an improvement in healthcare system to address this issue. Dr. Ade reminded that with the great need for health services, the quality of health services should also be upheld so that health problems can be managed properly.

dr. Erna Mulati, M.Sc., CMFM. discussed maternal health in disaster situations and explained the importance of health awareness and education, especially in responding to mothers and children during disasters.

The two speakers emphasised that during disaster situations, the safety of the victims must be given utmost priority.
