On 26 June 2026, idsMED Thailand, led by SCA Team A in collaboration with the Ultrasound and Marcom teams, organised the Common Rehabilitation Ultrasound in Daily Practice programme, featuring invited key opinion leaders (KOLs) as speakers.
The distinguished speakers included Gp. Capt. Piyaporn Pramuksun, M.D., Head of Rehabilitation Medicine at Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital (Royal Thai Air Force), and Dr Pannika Prachgosin of the Rehabilitation Department at Medpark Hospital, an expert in sports medicine and athletic recovery who also serves as a physician for the Thai national swimming team. Both speakers are members of the Royal College of Physiatrists of Thailand.
The Marcom team dedicated approximately three months to engaging the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Prapokklao Chanthaburi Hospital and the 6th Health Service Region to develop the programme. The initiative was designed with a focus on industrial areas, where the working population has a high demand for rehabilitation services. The 6th Health Service Region covers Chanthaburi, Chonburi, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Trat, Rayong, and Samut Prakan. In these areas, rehabilitation clinics play an increasingly important role, supported by strong patient demand and growing clinical investment.
Ultrasound in rehabilitation is an emerging trend among rehabilitation physicians, enabling real-time visualisation of soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, and ligaments. This enhances diagnostic precision, supports treatment planning, tracks tissue healing, and provides immediate visual feedback, allowing clinicians to adjust rehabilitation programmes in line with patient recovery.
The educational programme was ultimately approved and opened to rehabilitation physicians nationwide. In addition to participants from the 6th Health Service Region, attendees also joined from Bangkok, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Surin, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chaiyaphum, and Nakhon Nayok, reflecting strong national interest in the topic.
The opening remarks were delivered by Dr Theerapong Tunak, Director of Prapokklao Chanthaburi Hospital. He expressed appreciation to idsMED for supporting the programme with GE ultrasound systems. He also noted to the hospital’s Rehabilitation Department leadership that requests for additional ultrasound systems should be submitted for further consideration.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in lectures and hands-on workshops focusing on conditions such as frozen shoulder and osteoarthritis. Clinical demonstrations included real patients, allowing participants to observe diagnostic assessments and learn ultrasound-guided injection techniques for accurate pain management.
The successful delivery of the programme was made possible through the support of the GE Healthcare EC Team and the collaborative efforts of SCA Team A, led by Ms Kakanamporn Prasarnpanich (Noon), Ms Jenjira Bunchai (Pla), Ms Rattanaporn Jaknoi (Kung), and Ms Kunlasatree Thipla (Benz), as well as product sales specialists (East), including Mr Natakorn Veechitkool (First) and Ms Methawee Sawatwaree (May), and the Middle and Back Office teams.
