On July 26–27, 2025, the Indonesian Perfusionist Association proudly hosted its annual event, the 9th Indonesian Meeting of Perfusionist Association (IMPACT), at Hotel Melia Purosani, Yogyakarta. This year’s conference centred on a timely and vital theme: “Handling Critical Emergency Situations: Best Practices for Perfusionists to Ensure Patient Safety.”

For two days, perfusionists from across Indonesia participated in a series of insightful discussions and presentations centred on crisis management in the operating room. Key topics included Crisis Management Protocol and Equipment in Perfusion: Oxygenator Failure, Standard Crisis Management Protocol and Equipment in Perfusion: Pump Failure, and Risk Assessment & Prevention for Emergency Crises.
As a long-standing partner dedicated to advancing the field of perfusion in Indonesia, idsMED Indonesia proudly took part in the event by hosting an interactive workshop and setting up an exhibition booth. The company highlighted two of its flagship products: the Heart-Lung Machine (HLM) Essenz, the newest innovation in its perfusion portfolio, and the ATS XTRA. The HLM Essenz also received a mini product launch through a dedicated presentation and workshop session.
The event was attended by 170 perfusionists, representing the vast majority of the 180 perfusionists across Indonesia. This impressive turnout demonstrated the strong enthusiasm and commitment of the perfusion community toward continuous professional development. Notably, participants from workshops organised by other brands also showed significant interest in the HLM Essenz, reflecting the positive reception and trust in the innovations brought forward by idsMED.

Through this event and the continued support of idsMED, perfusionists in Indonesia are increasingly empowered to respond to critical emergencies with the right tools and up-to-date competencies. In the world of perfusion, every second counts, and every decision has the power to save a life.
