idsMED Indonesia Celebrates the Year of Metal Rat

2020 marks the year of the Metal Rat. A rat is a clever and quick thinker. It is also a symbol of wealth. To welcome the new year, idsMED Indonesia commemorates the Chinese New Year 2020 by celebrating the moment and inviting a Barongsai show. Barongsai is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture and Asian Countries. It is believed that Barongsai can shout out the evil spirit. The Barongsai was greeted by Pak Rufi and Pak Ramli in the front office of idsMED Indonesia.

The Barongsai entered and went around the office, picking up every red envelope that were placed in corners of the office. The employees also could interact with the Liong (The Barongsai) and give them angpao or gift, or even took a selfie with them. After the barongsai went around the 17^th and 22^nd floor of the idsMED office, the event continued with the employees gathering. Held in the Education and Training Room, Pak Rufi gave a motivational speech about The Year of Rat and asked us to be diligent and never give up on our dreams. Then, the speech was closed by the Barongsai’s performance.

Barongsai usually practices the dance with Chinese cultural music as the back sound so it was very interesting to see the Barongsai dance with a different twist in the music background, such as Kpop Songs and EDM Music. After the show was done, all the management team – Pak Rufi, Pak Ramli, Pak Andy, Pak Ata, and Pak Danny – stood in front of the podium to directly congratulate the employees while handing out Angpao. Afterward, the event was closed by enjoying lunch together. The menu was very authentic and special, Swekiau, Kuo Tie, and Lontong Cap Gomeh. prepared by the HR&GA team.
