On Friday, 30 November 2018, idsMED Indonesia took part in the commemoration of the World AIDS Day, which falls on 1 December every year. It is a day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic and mourning those who have died of the disease. All staffs were wearing the ’red ribbon’, which is the universal symbol of awareness and support for people living with HIV. Through this ribbon, we want to voice out the courage and passion of living, the love shared between humankind.
Oftentimes, people living with HIV avoid going to clinics for fear of having their status disclosed or of suffering further stigma and discrimination based on their HIV status. In order to reach all people living with, or at risk of, HIV and to link them with HIV prevention and treatment services, the world must step forward and confront discrimination. Let us join hands and stand together to stamp out HIV and HIV-related stigma and discrimination as we believe that your life truly matters.
And to all our brothers and sisters living with HIV, don’t forget that...
