Innonix Technologies is a global biomedical materials R&D company with numerous intellectual properties and patents developed by U.S. scientists. The company began research efforts in 2007, culminating in the 2013 sale of a surgical mask with an antimicrobial/antiviral agent that comes under the new FDA product code OUK. This mask with ViraxTM technology is the genesis of the RespoKare® line of masks.

Direct & Indirect Transmission

Viruses and germs are transmitted through direct contact with an infected person, from infected respiratory droplets, aerosols, or surfaces, including face masks.

Anti-Viral Mask Line Construction The mask features a four-layer construction. The outer two layers use our patented Virax™ biotechnology to quickly destroy viruses & pathogens.

Outer Virax™ Layer

1. The outer Virax™ layer coating is hydrophilic, allowing infectious laden droplets to be rapidly absorbed and trapped.
2. The outer Virax™ layer coating is a low pH environment which starts to denature and damage the surface membrane of viruses within 5 seconds.
3. Infected droplets are quickly wicked away from the outer surface into the second Virax™ virucidal layer where the viruses are trapped and destroyed.

Second Virax™ Layer

The second Virax™ virucidal layer is a non-woven rayon material treated with active functional groups that mimic the binding of viruses to sialic acid on the surface of living host cells.

Viruses trapped in this layer are exposed to high localized concentrations of copper and zinc ions which destroy the viruses through ionic interactions with proteins and RNA or DNA.

• The Virax™ coatings are formulated using a patented combination of commonly used food additives that are proven safe and effective.
• Tested for compatibility with skin contact and safety from extractables under ISO 10993.
• The mild scent on the mask surface is safe and comes from residual traces of acetic acid from the coating process. (Acetic acid is the same as white vinegar).

• The RespoKare N95 Respirator Plus is NIOSH Approved
